Mrs. Joanne Whitson, age 78, a resident of Spring Hill, passed away Sunday, May 31 at Claiborne & Hughes Nursing Home in Franklin.
A graveside memorial service for Mrs. Whitson will be conducted Thursday, June 4 at 10:00 Am at the Zion Presbyterian Churchyard Cemetery with Jonathan Jones II officiating.
Williams Funeral Home of Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
Born February 3, 1931 in Ripley, TN, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ruby Moore Sutton and the wife of George Whitson. Joanne, along with George, owned and operated a uniform store.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son: Mike Rita Dodson of Nolensville, TN; her daughter: Dianne Shroder of Mt. Juliet, TN; step children: David Whitson of Flower Mound, TX, Cindy Villella and Emily Pinero, both of Clearwater, FL; a sister: Charlotte Felts of Nashville; sister-in-law: Erion Sutton of Spring Hill; several grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Willowbrook Hospice, 381 Riverside Dr., #440, Franklin, TN 37064
