Mrs. Joan Appleton Wilson, age 67, a resident of Bradshaw Drive passed away on Saturday, March 21, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services for Mrs. Wilson will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating.

The family will visit with friends on Monday from 4:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.

Born in Giles County on May 11, 1941, Joan was the daughter of the late Richard and Virginia Sutherland Appleton and she was married to Harry T. "Tom" Wilson. She retired from River Valley Mills as a supervisor and worked as a food demonstrator, where she received the employee of the month award. She was a lifetime member of the Jaycettes, where she served as vice-president and secretary; an associate member of the F.O.P. Fraternal Order of Police and a member of the Lady Elks. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wilson is survived by her children: Troy Jeanann Wilson and Julie Dawn Wilson, both of Columbia; a sister: Sandra Daniel Konkle of Murfreesboro, TN; step-grandchildren: Nick and Beau McVicker, both of Columbia; a niece: Rhonda Tim Holt; great nieces: Jennifer Hardy and Morgan Holt; great-great niece: Sutherland Hardy. She was preceded in death by a brother: W.L. Appleton

Pallbearers will be James Scroggins, Craig Konkle, Allen Ibbotson, Tommy Pulley, Michael Blade and Tim Holt. Honorary pallbearers will be the Maury County Sheriff's Department, F.O.P., past & present members of the Elks, Maury County Highway Department, The Shop and Food Demonstrators-NCIM
