Jiviben M. Patel

Jiviben M. Patel, age 89, of Columbia, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at NHC Columbia.

Jiviben was born in India on October 1, 1929 to Mafatlal Patel and Ugariben Patel. She was the wife of Maneklal S. Patel, and the mother of 6 children. Jiviben was a strong, independent woman, who raised her children to love one another greatly. Because of this, their bond is very strong and the family members are very close. Her strength was demonstrated by her coming to the United States, and although she knew no English, nor how to use modern conveniences, helped raise her grandchildren in America. She was a person who taught her family the importance of tolerance.

Jiviben is survived by her husband: Maneklal S. Patel; sons: Rasikbhai M. Patel, Ashokbhai M. Patel and Kamleshbhai M. Patel; daughters: Shardaben M. Patel, Vasantiben D. Patel and Savitaben L. Patel; and several grandchildren who adore her.

Services for Mrs. Patel will be held from 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Cremation will follow at Polk Memorial Crematory.
