Jimmye Smartt Rummage

Mrs. Jimmye Smartt Rummage, 89, a resident of Hilltop Drive in Columbia, passed away Friday May 1, 2009 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral service for Mrs. Rummage will be conducted Monday May 3, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Kirk Brothers, Bro. John Vaughn and Bro. Wendell Robinson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will visit with friends Monday from 11:00 AM till service time at the funeral home.
Born in Smith County, TN, she was the daughter of the late James and Georgia Fite Smartt and wife of J.M. Rummage. A graduate of Watertown High School, she taught school and retired as a bookkeeper from American General Insurance. She attended Graymere Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her nieces and nephews: Carolyn Eddie Demonbreun of Hermitage, Sue Jason Papuchis of Donelson, Sherrel Joan Smartt of Goodletsville and James Josephine Smartt of TN. She was preceded in death by a sister: Dorothy Sue Smartt Garner.
