Mr. Jimmy Paul Shouse, age 70, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Jimmy was born on January 11, 1948, in Columbia, to Malcolm R. Shouse, Sr. and Grace Underwood Shouse. On April 28, 1967, he married Judy Brown Shouse, enjoying fifty-one years of marriage together. He retired from Columbia State Community College, having worked in the maintenance department for thirty-nine years. He was a loving husband and devoted family man. A member of Highland Church of Christ, he served as a deacon there for a number of years. His hobbies included knife collecting and woodworking, and he could make anything with wood. He was a devoted coach and umpire for the Santa Fe Recreation Club for several years.
Surviving Mr. Shouse is his wife: Judy Carol Brown Shouse of Columbia; sons: Malcolm Paul (Linda) Shouse of Columbia, Gregory Scott Shouse of Santa Fe and Mark Thomas (Misty) Shouse of Chapel Hill; grandchildren: Taylor Williams, Addi Beth Shouse and Rayleigh Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Malcolm R. Shouse, Sr. and Grace Underwood Shouse; and brother: Malcolm R. Shouse, Jr.
Funeral services for Jimmy will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with David Morris officiating, with interment to follow at Knob Creek Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, April 7, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Larry Brown, Darrell Brown, Danny Clark, Kevin Clark, Kenny Brown and Michael Shouse will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include: past and present members of Highland Church of Christ, Ron Ingram and Paul Handley.
