James “Jimmy” Floyd Attkisson, age 54, passed away in the early hours Saturday morning at Maury Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was a long time resident of Mt. Pleasant, TN.
Jimmy was born August 3, 1958 in Garden City, MI to the late Lewis & Margaret Attkisson. While Jimmy’s profession was plumbing his passion was his grandchildren. Up till his final moments he spoke of his next planned activity them, a Nashville Sounds game. Aside from his family he loved his Honda Gold Wing Trike, fishing, and hunting. He was also looking forward to a trip in the mountains with his family, a place he loved very much.
Services for Jimmy will be held Tuesday June 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Williams Funeral Home Mt. Pleasant Chapel. Bro. Jeff Waldrop is officiating the service. Burial will follow at Watts Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5-8 p.m. also in funeral home.
Pallbearers for Jimmy will be Christopher, Jack, Stanley, and Ben Attkisson; Corey and Jason Stanage. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Kelley, Jake Nichols, Ray Bassham, and his son in laws Justin Wood and Sawyer Greene. Special thanks to everyone at the MRMC for excellent care. Memorials may be made to the Sandy Hook Building Fund in his name.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Dolly Attkisson; Two daughters: Lacy (Justin) Wood and Jenny (Sawyer) Greene; Four Grandchildren: Karsen Attkisson, Lane Greene, Braxton and Leah Wood; Four Brothers: Wade (Joann) Attkisson, Donnie (Carlos) Attkisson, Kenny Attkisson and Ronnie Attkisson; One sister: Debbie Stanage; and all of his nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
