Jimmie "Pop" Goodman

March 28, 1928 — October 31, 2008

Mr. Jimmie Clyde "Pop" Goodman, age 80, a resident of Cayce Lane, passed away on Friday, October 31, at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Goodman will be conducted Monday, November 3 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Elmer Crosby and Bro. Mark Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Lewis County, he was the son of the late Richard and Maude Brown Goodman and husband of Edna Coyle Goodman. He was retired from Columbia Gulf Transmission, after 35 years service, avid deer and turkey hunter. He was an active member of the community and Beech Hill Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Dwayne "Sam" Regina Goodman of Columbia; a daughter: Diane Frierson Craig of Nashville; step children: Paul Karen Manley of Duck River, Penny Manley of Nashville, Connie Dean Barrett of KY and Tracy Schmidt of CA; grandchildren: Christie Michelle Goodman, Jennifer Tom Cain and Eva Morrison; great grandchildren: Jackson Cain and Annie Cain and Dylan Robert Hilton, his special little friend. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Annie Lou Jacobs Goodman; brothers: Joe, Robert, Clem and Glenn Goodman; sisters: Frances Barker and Grace Prokapeck.

Pallbearers will be Dwayne "Sam" Goodman, Nickey Savage, Paul Manley,, Enoch George, Dennis Malone, Larry Allen and Frierson Craig. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Beech Hill Church of Christ and the past and present employees of Columbia Gulf Oil.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of the Highland Rim.
