Jimmie Jones Pierce, Jr., age 64 , resident of William Earl Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Thursday, July 15 at his residence.
Born August 14, 1945 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of Anna Mae Young Pierce and the late Jimmie Jones Pierce, Sr. and husband of Jo-Ann Villegas Pierce. He was in retail sales, a veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and of the Baptist faith. Jimmie loved to do metal detecting and was an avid on-line poker player.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children: Ann Twelvina Glenn Ray Palmer of MO, Lorraine Brewer, Jimmie J, Pierce III and Kyle Patrick Pierce, all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Josie Beth Palmer, Glenn Ray Palmer, Raina Palmer, all of MO, Megan Brewer and Ellis Brewer, both of Hampshire, Lejin Kincaid Pierce, Lailah Pierce and Summar Smith, all of Mt. Pleasant; great grandchild: Owen Michael of MO; brother: Carl Karina Pierce of Mt. Pleasant; sister: Diana K. David Abray of Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services for Mr. Pierce will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, July 18 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Matthew Wood officiating and military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John ?Butch? Pierce, Tim Odom, David Abray, Jr., Daniel Staggs, Ray Palmer and Ray Bolton.
