Mrs. Jewell Cox Bishop Keeton, 66, a resident of South High Street in Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Keeton will be conducted Friday November 21, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Gary Bailey and Rev. Jim Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Mary Inman Cox and the wife of Johnny Keeton. She was a retired unit secretary for Maury Regional Medical Center, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the VFW and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. The doctors admired her for the courage she had to fight through her sickness.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Tamara Lynn Davis, Steven Lance Bishop and Loria Beth David Stanfill, all of Columbia, Robert Patrick Carole Bishop Jr. of Destin, FL and Crystal Renee Jason Osborne of Columbia; sisters: Alice Fay Ronnie Ring and Carlon Sue Allen Teasley, both of Columbia; brother: Richard Dale Debbie Cox of IL; grandchildren: Allen Davis, Cassie Stanfill, Collin Bishop, Caleb Osborne and Noah Bishop. She was preceded in death by a sister: Louise Cox and brothers: Frankie Cox and Charles Cox.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Daniel Skarzynski, Dr. Pulliam and the nursing staff of NHC/Hillview.
