Jewel A. Estes

Mrs. Jewel A. Whitehead Estes, age 55, a resident of Mills Hollow Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Friday, Dec. 29, in Columbia Care and Rehab Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Estes will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Terry Golden and Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 4:00 ?9:00 P.M. and on Sunday from 2:00 ? 9:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

The Maury Co. native was the daughter of the late Ernest and Blanch McWilliams Whitehead. She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include her husband, David Ray Estes of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters: Veronica Rob Demastus of Columbia and Carol James Dye of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Alex and Kailey Demastus of Columbia and Dalton and Molly Dye of Mt. Pleasant; four sisters: Linda Morton of Mt. Pleasant who Jewel referred to as her ?Rock?, Katherine James ?Monk? Woodard of Mt. Pleasant, Mary Bobby Gaines of Columbia and Faye Leslie Burns of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers: Eddie Margie Whitehead and Johnny Kim Whitehead, both of Mt. Pleasant. She was preceded in death by one son: Davy ?Bubba? Estes and one brother: Chuck Whitehead.

Pallbearers will be Doug Woodard, Timmy Woodard, Jimmy Woodard, Brent Burns, Michael Estes and Donald Estes. Honorary pallbearers will be Ann Fitzpatrick, James Dye, Linda Morton, doctors of the Oncology Department and the staff of Columbia Care and Rehab.
