Jessie Biffle Johnson

Mrs. Jessie Lee Biffle Johnson, 88, formerly of the Hampshire Community and a resident Morningside of Belmont in Nashville, died Thursday, August 12, 2004 at Claiborne Hughes Health Care in Franklin.

Graveside services for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Hueston Marshall officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.

The Hampshire, Tennessee native was the daughter of the late Adley Burl and Effie Lee Rice Biffle. She was the widow of former local union agent, John Howard Johnson who died in 1983. She was a noted seamstress and designer of children?s dresses, winning numerous awards at the Maury County and Tennessee State Fairs. She also worked in retail sales at several businesses in Columbia and Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, J. Howard Jennie Johnson of Franklin, TN; a grandson, Jay H. Amanda Johnson of Franklin, TN; a granddaughter, Tiffany Mooney of Franklin, TN; two great grandchildren, Holland Mooney and Elizabeth Johnson both of Franklin, TN; a sister-in-law, Audrey Biffle of Hampshire, TN. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Biffle.

Memorials may be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund, 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, Tennessee 37211.
