Jerry Leon Nix, born on September 11, 1939, in Old Hickory, Tennessee, peacefully earned his angel wings on April 14, 2024, joining his beloved wife in eternity. Born to the late Carroll Tipton Nix and Edith Spears Nix, Jerry married his soulmate on June 24, 1958, and together they crafted a life built on love, resilience, and perseverance.
Jerry's heart remained firmly rooted in Summertown, where he was considered a native son. A proud member of The Summertown Basketball Team from '57 - '58, Jerry embodied the spirit of his hometown, fostering camaraderie and community wherever he went.
Beyond the court, Jerry found joy in cheering on the Alabama Football and Kentucky Basketball teams, sharing his passion for sports with those around him. His love for athletics was matched only by his love for his family.
Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his sons Victor Nix, Roger (Mandy) Nix, and Shannon (Darlene) Nix, along with eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive family and friends Monday, April 22, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and a funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Dr. Todd Gieste and Bro. Ray Watkins will be officiating the funeral service. To follow, Mr. Jerry will be laid to rest at Summertown Cemetery.
Jerry's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. The care of Mr. Jerry Leon Nix and his family has been entrusted to the staff of Williams Funeral Home. To share words of comfort and condolences, please visit www.williamsfh.com
