Jerry “Jake” Wayne Holder, 62, of Mount Pleasant passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was born on March 3, 1955 to the late Clarence Wiley Holder, Sr. and Hazel Lorene Allen Holder in Hampshire, TN.
Jake had a passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He especially loved to take care of his chickens. There wasn’t a day that he didn’t give someone a hard time or made them laugh. Most of all, Jake loved his family and always made sure everyone was taken care of. He was always worried about everyone else but himself. Jake would make sure to find a way to take care of other people. He worked at Solvay Chemical Plant in Mount Pleasant as an outside operator.
A funeral service to celebrate Jake’s life will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with J.C. Holt, Jr. officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM in Mount Pleasant.
Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Solvay Chemical Company in Mount Pleasant.
Jake is survived by his loving wife, Carman Holder of Mount Pleasant; Sons: Tim (Amanda) Holder and Cody Sims; Daughter: Stacey Holder; 6 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; Brothers; Raymond Holder, Clarence Wiley Holder, Jr. and Steve Holder; Sisters: Betty Runions, JoAnne Coleman, Patricia Griggs and Ruthie Holloway; and special friend, Debbie Hoffmann. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters: Earlene Hensley and Ailene Cox.
