Jeri Sanders Hill

Jeraldine known to everyone as Jeri, was born on January 1, 1923 in Lyons, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Ralph N. and India Durden Sanders. Jeri was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. She retired from Dupont and Spontex as a lab technician. She was a member of the West End Baptist Church. Jeri loved to piece quilts, crochet blankets, reading but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Jeri is survived by two daughters, Connie Chris McCutcheon of Hixson, TN and Sandra Billy Irwin of Holiday, FL.; a son, Ted Rosana Castleman of San Mateo, CA; three sisters, Audrey Payne and Jackie Joe Dale both of Columbia and Joyce Larry Massey of Fayettville; one granddaughter, Valerie Gaskell of Nashville; three grandsons, Clint Sommer Castleman of Liberty Lake, WA, Josh McCutcheon and Michael McCutcheon both of Hixson, TN; three great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Betty Sanders of Columbia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Billy Jean Harmon and Doris Jester, and three brothers, Wilburn Sanders, Roy Sanders and Ralph N. Sanders, Jr.

Jeraldine "Jeri" Sanders Hill was 88 years old and a resident of Hemingway Dr. in Columbia. She passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services for Jeri will be conducted at 2 PM on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Rick Esley officiating.

The Hill/Sanders Family will receive friends from 1 PM until 1:30 PM on Monday at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.

Active pallbearers will be Josh McCutcheon, Michael McCutcheon, Jimmy Andrews, Ashton Andrews, Trenton Andrews and Cam Hamby. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the West End Baptist Church.
