Mrs. Jennie Maebelle Johnson, age 73, a resident of Kedron Road in Columbia, passed away on Saturday, March 8, in Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial will follow in the Hardison Cemetery on Joe Brown Road.
The family will visit with friends on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late
Hershal and Mary Slaughter Fox and the wife of Hershel "Preacher" Johnson, whom she married on December 31, 1989. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Colonial Meadows Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children: Rick Cheryl Howell of Primm Springs, Kathy Bell of Spring Hill, Mary Danny Rogers of Lewisburg, Sharon Dale Tomlin of Columbia, Susan Charles Thigpen of Killen, AL, Sheila Wayne Mayberry and Cindy Tim Hickman, both of Culleoka and Greg Alison Howell of Antioch; step-children: Dean Pam Johnson and Lewis Johnson, both of Columbia and Lavana Rex Deal of Leipers Fork; 21 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren; sister: Lucille Johnson of Lewisburg; brothers: Robert Betty Fox and Larry Myra Fox, both of Columbia. She was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Linda Fay Howell and Tammy Lynn Howell; a step son: Walter Lee Johnson; 2 grandchildren: John Tomlinson and Jesse Tomlinson; a sister: Velma Hinson; a brother: Roy Fox
Pallbearers will be Ricky Howell, Jeff Howell, Bobby Howell, Chris Howell, Jake Bell, Jonas Bell, Will Rogers, Michael Potts and Jason Tomlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Howell, Brian Howell, Tim Singleton, Jeremy Singleton and Casey Potts.
