Jennie Elizabeth Heflin

April 7, 1950 — September 22, 2024

Hampshire

Jennie Elizabeth Overstreet Heflin, age 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Hampshire, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family. Jennie was born on April 7, 1950, to the late Rufus Overstreet and Mary Louise Angus Overstreet, and she was raised on the family farm, where she developed a strong work ethic and a deep connection to the land. Her childhood was spent learning sustainable trades, such as raising farm animals, growing crops, and preserving her own food, skills she lovingly passed down to future generations.

A 1968 graduate of Haylong High School, Jennie furthered her education by earning an associate degree to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She later advanced her career by becoming a Registered Nurse (RN), serving in various roles throughout her dedicated nursing career. Jennie made a lasting impact at Maury Regional Medical Center, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Hillside Hospital, where her warm and caring personality touched countless lives.

Jennie's kindness, compassion, and dedication to helping others will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and service continues through her family and community.

Jennie’s memory will be cherished by her children: Kevin (Kate) Boshers, Bradley Boshers, and Lori McFarland. Her legacy will be carried on by those who lovingly called her “Ninnie”, her grandchildren: Kyle (Elisabeth) Boshers, Chase Boshers, Kolby (Holly) Boshers, Kinsey Boshers, Chandler Boshers, Jenna McFarland (David), and Klarissa McFarland; her great-grandchildren: Mila Bowden, Violet Boshers, and Lorelei Boshers; and her siblings: Rufus Wayne Overstreet, Nelda (Paul) Riggins, Kathy Overstreet, and Glenn (Teresa) Overstreet.

Jennie was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Boshers, and her sisters, Peggy Overstreet and Shirley Ferguson.

The family will receive friends and visitors on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Willims Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with a funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Bro Mark King will be officiating. Jennie will be laid to rest at Ebenezer Church Cemetery. Grandchildren will be honorably serving as pallbearers. Following services, please join the family in fellowship at Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jennie’s honor to Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with donations directed toward Dr. Ashlee King's mission trip to the Navajo Nation. Jennie’s generosity and spirit of giving will continue to make a difference in the lives of others.
