J.C. ?Bubba? Coffey II, age 10, a resident of Nowlin Court in Columbia, earned his halo to walk with Jesus on Wednesday, March 14, at Vanderbilt Children?s Hospital.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 ? 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Born July 1, 1996, in Maury Regional Hospital, he was the son of Jennifer Gladden of Columbia.
J.C. was a loving child who could put a smile on anyone?s face. He could light up a room with his own smile. J.C. will be missed by many whose lives he touched.
Survivors in addition to his mother include one sister: Emma Dawson of Columbia; great-grandparents: Betty & Hal Gibson of Columbia; Aunt: Sarah Lazarus of Columbia; uncle: Shane Gladden of Culleoka; godmother: Stephanie Gordon of Antioch; great aunt: Sherry Sewell of Columbia and great uncle and aunt: Mike and Tina Gibson of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Deborah ?Bubbie? Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Mike Gibson, Josh Lazarus, T.J. Sewell, Roger Dawson, Brandon Gibson, Matt Lynch and Justin Sewell. Honorary pallbearers will be Lt. Mickey Jones and Susie Jackson with the Dept. of Children?s Services, the PCCU Nursing Staff at Vanderbilt Children?s Hospital.
