Jeannette "Jeannie" Elizabeth Alvarez

November 16, 1953 — October 27, 2014

Jeannette “Jeannie” Elizabeth Alvarez (nee Legendre), age 60, beloved wife of Ray Alvarez, of Columbia, Tennessee, went home to be with Jesus on October 27, 2014 after an illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas (July 25, 2006) and Hertha (May 1, 2007) Legendre.

Visitation will be held at 11 AM, December 6, 2014, with Memorial Service following at 12 PM at Williams Funeral Home, 2517 Trotwood Ave, Columbia, TN. You are invited to join the family and friends for a meal following the service and internment. Notes of condolence can be left at www.williamsfh.com .

Jeannie married Ray Alvarez on July 22, 2006 in Franklin, Tennessee. Ray and Jeannie were deeply in love and enjoyed riding motorcycles and being in each other’s company. They created a warm home and enjoyed celebrating life.

Jeannie is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Alvarez, his father and mother Robard and Henrietta, his brothers: Robert (Anadena), Andrew (Carol), and sister Darlene; four children from her first marriage to Dan Svrchek: Sarah (Katie) Brick, Rachel Svrchek, Joseph (Amy) Svrchek and Beka (Jon) Lee. She was deeply loved by her children and three grandchildren: Jack and Maggie Brick and Abram Lee.

Jeannie was born November 16, 1953 in Indiana. She is survived by four siblings: Nikolaus Legendre, Carole George, Nancy (Tom) Eagley, and Kenny Legendre. Jeannie grew up in Indianapolis and attended Broad Ripple High School (class of 1972).

Jeannie had a wide circle of friends who knew her for her creativity, kindness and generosity. Her friends at work knew her for her strong work ethic and warm and genuine customer service. She had many friends at Hobby Lobby (TN), Lowes (TN), Target (TN), and Salisbury Brothers (IN). Jeannie was recently realizing her dream to be a small business owner. Her business, Seasonal Notes, focused on food, flowers and fabric arts.

Jeannie was a faithful, godly woman full of life. She enjoyed creating life through gardening. She was also life giving through her attention to delicious and nutritious food. She was talented in breathing life into others by connecting with people all around her. She consistently expressed gratitude to the people around her.

The family would like to express their heart-felt thanks for each of you who supported Jeannie during her illness. She was touched by the generosity of her medical staff and friends in Waco who opened their hearts and homes to her. A special thanks to Ruthie Weller for her loving support.
