Jeanette "Jan" LaFramboise, age 72, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at her home in Columbia, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 13, 1952, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to Norma Stiehl and the late Donald LaFramboise, Jan was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Jan’s life was marked by creativity and kindness. A skilled florist, she brought beauty into the lives of others with her exquisite floral arrangements, including those for her sister's wedding, which she designed with love and care. In recent years, she discovered a passion for painting, further showcasing her artistic spirit.
Throughout her career, Jan demonstrated dedication and leadership, serving in management roles at JCPenney, General Motors, and Waccamaw Pottery. After a life spent in Michigan, she moved to South Carolina and eventually settled in Tennessee, where she worked as an account manager for Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Family was at the heart of Jan’s life. She treasured her large extended family, including her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her.
She faced numerous painful illnesses throughout her life, ultimately succumbing to cancer.
Jan is survived by her mother, Norma LaFramboise; her siblings, Ann (John) Jarrett, Don (Debbie) LaFramboise, Dan LaFramboise, and Rodney LaFramboise; and her nieces and nephews, Adrienne (Patrick) Keeling, Michelle (Capt. Doug) Grace, Allison (Shaun) Sneed, Sherie (Jonathan) LaFramboise Eggemeyer, and Derek LaFramboise. She was adored by her great-nieces and nephews: Ira and Ezra Eggemeyer, Eleanor, James, and Esther Keeling, Hannah, Gideon, and Lillian Grace, and Amelia Sneed. She is also survived by her special friend, Chuck Drummond and sister-in-law: Pamela LaFramboise.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald LaFramboise; her brother, Ronald LaFramboise; her cherished pup, Brandy, who brought her endless joy and companionship; sister-in-law: Kathy Elkins LaFramboise.
The family would like to acknowledge all the friends Jan made over the years through work and church of their kindness and love given to Jan.
Jan's family and friends will forever hold her memory close, inspired by her creativity, resilience, and boundless love.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. The service for Jan will be Friday, January 3, 2025 at 2:00 PM with pastor and friend Reed Hughes officiating. Jan will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens.
