Jean Roddy Riley

December 3, 1933 — April 4, 2009

Mrs. Jean Roddy Riley, age 75, a resident of Walnut Lane in Columbia and former resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, April 4 at NHC/Columbia.

Graveside services for Mrs. Riley will be conducted Monday at 4:00 P.M. at the Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Dwight Liles officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Born on December 3, 1933 in Maury County, Jean was the daughter of the late Joe L. and Ester Duncan Roddy. Mrs. Riley was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She loved to sing, play bingo and be around people. She made any visitor feel special.

Survivors include her brothers: Joe Lewis "Sonny" Roddy, Jr. of Columbia, and William Roddy of Mt. Pleasant; sister: Joyce Walter Marlin of Mt. Pleasant; nieces: Cindy Keith Rector, Sherri Michael Allen, Sandy Gene Foster, Donna Tommy Jones and Lynn Jason Smith; nephews: Tony Amanda Roddy and Marty Shelia Roddy.

Pallbearers will be Michael Allen, Tony Roddy, Keith Rector, Marty Roddy, Gene Foster and Jason Smith.

The family would like to thank the Locust Street neighbors, employees of Fred's for their kindness shown to Mrs. Riley over the years and the nurses of NHC/Columbia for their wonderful care.
