Jean “Jeanie” Marie Gant, age 55, went to be with her Lord and Savior, September 29, 2016 at her home in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
Jean Marie was born September 15, 1961 to Gilbert and Margaret Gant in Janesville, WI. After high school Jean at a later date enrolled in the eastern college of health vocations in Metairie, LA, graduating with an academic excellence AT EOT 1 with a 3.5 and above average GPA.
Jean Marie moved to Nashville after hurricane Katrina displaced her from her home in Louisiana. She lived in Nashville for a few years eventually moving to Mt. Pleasant, TN. Jeanie loved sports but especially cross country, track and basketball. She even went to the state finals in cross country and track, placing in the top 20. When she wasn’t playing sports she loved to watch them, especially the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers football. She loved her family dearly, she enjoyed getting together with her five brothers and sisters at family gatherings.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 beginning at 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. The service will be held the same day beginning at 2:00 p.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Columbia. Deacon Dan McCulley will be officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Jeanie is survived by her parents Gilbert and Margaret Gant of Columbia, TN, as well as her siblings: Diana Elizabeth Parry (David Parry) of Lynchburg, TN, Gary Allen Gant (Margaret “Maggy” Gant) of Harvest, AL, Randy John Gant (Marcy Gant) of Janesville, WI, William Stoner Gant of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Theresa Ann Frogge (David) of Athens, AL. Jeanie is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
