Jasper S. Foster, Jr. of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away at Maury Regional Hospital on December 25, 2018 at the age of 90.
Jasper was born June 10, 1928 to the late Jasper Foster, Sr. & Pauline Green Foster in Maury County. He married Jean McAnally on June 14, 1948. Jasper worked at Union Carbide for forty years, finishing his career as a principal engineer. He was a long-standing member of Graymere Church of Christ serving as a deacon. He was also a member of Bricklayers Union and the Cattleman’s Association. He served as PTA president at Baker Elementary in the 60’s. He loved to travel and visited England, Europe and South Africa while employed at Union Carbide. He played football and his favorite team was the Tennessee Vols. He was a very devoted father, but loved being a Papa to Peyton. Jasper was also a very proud resident of Tennessee, especially Maury County.
Jasper is survived by his wife; Jean Foster, Kenneth Wayne Foster of Arlington, Tennessee, Jasper Stanley (Jeanean)Foster, III of Franklin, Tennessee, Melissa Ann Foster of Franklin, Tennessee, grandson; Peyton Stanley Foster of Franklin, Tennessee and aunt; Salome Foster
Sadler of Hendersonville, Tennessee and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday December 29, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home, Columbia, Tennessee at 11:00 am with Bro. John Vaughan officiating. Visitation with family is 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, December 28, 2018. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
