Jason Scott Skillern, age 47, passed away December 16, 2013 at his residence in Jacksonville, Florida.
Jason was born May 22, 1966 to William and Mary Springer Skillern in Nashville, Tennessee. Jason worked as a dispatcher at Burlington Air Express in Nashville before returning to Jacksonville. He was a member at Mandarin United Methodist Church. He was a musician at heart, knew a great amount of rock and roll trivia. He also had a caring heart and loved animals, often rescuing them. Jason is loved and will be dearly missed. Most of all Jason loved his children.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home Columbia. Services will be held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM also at Williams Funeral Home Columbia. Interment to follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Skillern is survived by his children: Jason Scott (Heather) Skillern, Jr. and Alexandra Christine Skillern both of Mt. Juliet; his granddaughter: Diem Grace Skillern; parents: William and Mary Springer Skillern; brother: Jeff (Lisa) Skillern; nieces: Olivia, Sarah Grace and Gabrielle; uncles: Steve Springer, David Carter and Danny Carter; great aunt: Marguerite Hardison.
