Mrs. Janice K. Workman Grooms, 64, a resident of Paul Drive in Columbia, died Sunday August 28, 2005 at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Grooms will be conducted Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Jim Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends
Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Clarence and Annie Mae Attkisson Workman and wife of Bobby Grooms. She was housewife and very devoted mother to her family and friends. She touched many lives throughout her 64 years. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Joey Grooms and Jeff Grooms, both of Columbia; a daughter, Debbie Flores of Columbia; four grandchildren, Jeremy Grooms, Michelle Grooms, Michael Grooms, Jamie Grooms and Harley Grooms, all of Columbia; four great grandchildren, Ramon Grooms, Juan Grooms, Jazmin Grooms and Austin Grooms, all of Columbia; two brothers, Timer Missy Workman of Ethridge and Glenn Diane Workman of Goodland, KS; two sisters, Claryce E.D. Faulker of Ethridge and Dot Lynch of Columbia; a close friend, Tammy McNeese of Giles County. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Elnora Jean Hillhouse, Wilma Reynolds, Anna Holt and Ruth Workman; a brother, Gary Workman.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Daniel Grooms, Roy Wayne Grooms, Michael Grooms, Jeremy Grooms, Jamie Grooms and Morris McNeese. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Grooms, all the brothers-in-law from the Workman and Grooms family.
