Jane Williams Brawner

August 1, 1957 — October 24, 2008

Mrs. Jane Williams Brawner, age 51, a resident of Highway 20 in Summertown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 24, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, from injuries sustained while helping a friend in need on October 13.

Funeral services for Jane will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Phillip Wright and Lance Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 4:00 – 9:00 P.M. and on Monday from 2:00 – 9:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.

The Maury County native was the daughter of Mrs. Aldene Patterson Williams of Mt. Pleasant and the late Harry Webb Williams. She was the wife of Tony Brawner of Summertown. Jane was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. She was a 33 year employee of the Tennessee Farmers Insurance Company currently serving as the Coordinator of Incentives and Recognition She also served on the Maury County Board of the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include one son and daughter-in-law: Ray and Tiffany Brawner and their daughters, Amy Carson and Jancin of Mt. Pleasant; one sister: Joyce Wayne Dugger of Mt. Pleasant; one brother: Webb Lori Williams of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers-in-law: Barry Brawner of Clifton, David Karan Brawner of Five Points and Jerry Brawner of Columbia; three sisters-in-law: Gail Bobby Meigs of Summertown, Brenda Runions and Jenny Bill Moore, both of Columbia; several nieces and nephews and a special friend: Tracy Ring of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Amy Dorene Brawner in 1997 and a brother-in-law: Douglas Runions.

Pallbearers will be Clay Gilliam, Patrick Trousdale, Marcos Garza, Neal Townsend, Joe Coble, Bobby Belew and Keith Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the George Anderson Sunday School class of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee Farmers Insurance employees, friends of the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, and members of the Lorena Bourne Circle of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, 2200 Children's Way, Nashville, TN 37232 or to the Amy Brawner Christian Scholarship Fund, 202 S. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474.
