James W. "Puff" Mcneese

September 17, 1938 — February 26, 2007

Mr. James W. ?Puff? McNeese, age 68, a resident of Parkview Drive in Columbia, passed away on Monday, February 26 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. McNeese will be conducted Thursday at
3:30 PM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Elmer Lusk and Bro. Joe Macer officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.

The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 ? 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 4:00-9:00 pm at the funeral home.

Born in Giles County, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Sarah Pullen McNeese and the husband of the Barbara Lindsey McNeese. Mr. McNeese was retired from the maintenance department at Monsanto, a member of the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19, a member of the Chapter 22 DAV and the 40 & 8.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Sherry McNeese and her fiancé, Donnie Chatman of Columbia, Cindy Richard Bramlett of Mt. Pleasant; a son, James ?Tony? McNeese and his fiancé, Faye Fox of Columbia; stepson, Anthony Rochelle of Smyrna; stepdaughter, Kimberly Dawn White of Columbia; brothers, Jerry Odielene McNeese and Myron Gayle McNeese, both of Columbia; grandchildren, George Allen Westland, III, Jennifer McNeese, Crystal Jose Ramos, Robert Demastus, all of Columbia, Kim Bramlett and Jimmy Bramlett, both of Mt. Pleasant; step granddaughter, Tiffani White of Columbia; six great grandchildren and the mother of his children, Martha Sullivan. He was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Morris McNeese.

Pallbearers will be David Upchurch, Ray Rummage, Clarence Weaver, Richard Farris, Cliff Butt and Dave Coleman. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the DAV, Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19, members of Eastside Church of Christ, son, grandsons and sons-in-law.
