Mr. James Thomas ?Tom? Hay, 74, a resident of Raleigh Beard Rd. in Santa Fe, died Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Baptist Select Rehab in Nashville.
Funeral services for Mr. Hay will be conducted Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Steve Queen and Rev. Howard Alexander officiating. Burial will be in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Hensley and Gertie Beard Hay and husband of DeLois Potts Hay. He was retired from Co Nalco and was presently employed at Nukote in Franklin. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and attended Elmore Nazarene Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Brenda Robert Davis of Columbia and Charlotte Marlene Smith of Lewisburg; a sister, Shirley Eddie Kelley of Columbia; four brothers, Leslie Hay of Little Lot, Clifton Martha Hay of Smyrna, J.W. Betty Hay and Milton Glenda Hay, both of Columbia; six grandchildren, Shannon Pope of Franklin, Jonathan Stewart, Crystal Smith, Robert ?Bubba? Davis, Jr., Justin Davis and Curtis Davis, all of Columbia; four great grandchildren, Hailey Tucker and Selena Smith, both of Columbia, Keyairra Pope and D?Shawn Pope, both of Hohenwald; a sister-in-law, Martha Hay of Santa Fe; a brother-in-law, Sam Haskins of Dickson, TN. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Hay, a son, Donnie Hay and a brother, Mark Hay.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Atkins, Ryan Kelley, Jonathan Stewart, Mickey Hay, Sam Haskins, Shannon Pope, Phillip Tucker and Robert Davis, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Carl Hardison, Wesley Hay, Vernon Day, Tommy Beard, David Beard, Wayne Farris, Daisy McCord, Patsy Moss, Jewel Webb, Evenly Black, Sharon and Jessie Adler, Suzanne and Shane Morton and employees of Nucote.
