James Russell ?Rusty? Grooms, age 55, former resident of Trousdale Lane, passed away Sunday, March 25, at NHC/
Columbia Health Care.
Funeral services for Mr. Grooms will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 am in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Daniel Vannoy and Rev. William Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the TN National Guard.
The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of Mrs. Dorothy Hollis Grooms Kinzer of Columbia and the late Russell B. Grooms. He was a retired furnace operator for Monsanto Chemical Company, loved to watch the TN Titians and Alabama Crimson Tide football and play cards. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by daughters, Crystal Tim Grooms Fox and Jessica Grooms and fiancé Jessie Owen, all of Columbia; sister, Pam Grooms of Old Hickory; brother, Maj. David Grooms, USAF Retired of Florence, AL; step-brother, Tommy Marsha Kinzer of Columbia; grandchildren, Tristan C. Fox and Jade A. Hernandez, both of Columbia.
Pallbearers will be Charles Grooms, Amos McCoy, Cory Webster, Ricky Cunningham, Jim Bolton, Ricky Clark and Jimmy Sanders. Honorary pallbearer will be Frank Stewart.
