James Jim D. Wright

July 24, 1944 — February 2, 2012

James DeLano Wright, age 67, passed away February 2, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. He was born July 24, 1944 in Lawrenceburg, TN to the late Libby Wright.

James is survived by his loving wife Barbara Wright and his devoted and protective daughter Jamie DaLana Chad Smith Shaffer both of Columbia. His beautiful granddaughters are Megan, Mackennzie and Elizabeth Shaffer. James was loved by his father and mother-in-law: Robert and Rebecca Boshers; and his brothers-in-law: David Boshers, Tony Boshers, Ricky Boshers and Pete Boshers. He was preceded by his special Aunt Kat.

After graduating from the University of North Alabama with a degree in accounting, he spent most of his adult life pastoring and preaching the Good News of Jesus to several congregations in McMinnville and Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Most recently he was the pastor of Faith Community Church in Mt. Pleasant. His wife Barbara's joy in life was serving as a pastor's wife alongside her husband. Jim was also a DJ at WXRQ and was known as Big Ole Jim on the air and all around town. He was loved and respected by many in the Mt. Pleasant community.

Big Ole Jim always looked forward to being in heaven. His grandchildren loved him dearly and are comforted to know that PawPaw will be in heaven preaching revival for Jesus.

The family will visit with friends on Friday, February 3, 2012 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will be conducted by Frank Manning. Interment will follow in the Arlington Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Quinton Boshers, Dustin Boshers, Justin Boshers, Dylan Boshers, Stephen Johnson, Mark Morton. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Barkley and the Faith Community Church Family.

Williams Funeral Home, 819 N. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, TN will be handling the arrangements and condolences may be sent to the family at www.williamsfh.com .
