Mr. James Edward ?Jim? Marsh, age 83, a resident of Natchez Trace Road in Franklin and formerly of Sarasota, FL, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, at the Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro.
Funeral services for Mr. Marsh will be conducted Monday at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Baptist Church in Santa Fe with Rev. B. J. Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Santa Fe Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army.
The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Born in Owensboro, KY, he was the son of the late James and Violet Oost Jarnigan and the husband of Virginia Marsh, for 62 years. He was a TV repairman, a salesman for Quaker State Motor Oil, rode with the State Troopers Auxiliary in FL, a member of the American Legion, the National Rifle Association and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, injured during the landing at Omaha Beach in Normandy in 1944.
In addition to his wife, he survived by his children, Sandra Billie Miller of Santa Fe, Charles Edward ?Chuck? Janet Marsh of Franklin; grandchildren, Cherie Lea Miller of Sarasota, FL, Kari Lynn Maurizio Bussolino of Bon Aqua, Mark Edward Sara Miller of Nashville, Rebecca Sue ?Becky? Robert Sleeper of Goshen, IN, Ronda Jean Good of Franklin and William Alexander Marlana Good of Alabama; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Whitehouse; a brother, Roy Lee and two sisters, Geneva Messer and Pauline Bertand.
Pallbearers will be Larry Fox, Ron Dahlgren, Randall Monroe, Christopher Broadstone, Marian Sewell, Bill, Miller, Chuck Marsh, Bob Lee, David Messer, Tommy Mixon, Charles Duke, William A. Good and Scott Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Bruce Peletier, Larry Zapeline and Garfield Davis.
