James Dudley Workman, aka “Jamie” or “Flash”, age 53, passed away peacefully at his home on August 7, 2019.
Jamie was born on January 1, 1966, to the late Jimmy Workman and the late Betty Odom Reed in Columbia, Tennessee. He was known to be very generous, doing without so his family would have what they need. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also cared for his parents before they passed. He became a member of Freedom Church of Christ after being baptized on December 30, 2018.
Jamie is survived by his daughters: Lydia (Brandon) Sprouse and Katie (Chester) Martin; grandchildren: Preston Workman, Colin Sprouse, Kelton Owens and Olivia Sprouse; stepfather: Harold Reed; step-sisters: Mona Hedrick and Candy Stewart. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Andrew Workman; and sister: Karen McConnell.
Services will be Monday, August 12, 2019, at Williams Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant, at 1:00 PM with Shawn Kelly officiating. Family will visit with friends from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will follow at Freedom Cemetery in Summertown.
Pallbearers are Brandon Sprouse, Chester Martin, Allen Potete, Jackie Sprouse, Ray Hunter, Philip Brown, Jack Patterson and David Massey.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons: Preston, Colin, and Kelton and Marshall County Rock Quarry.
