James H. “Jim” Winchester was born July 14, 1936 to James W. and Musie Robinson Winchester. He passed away on March 22 at V.A. Hospital in Nashville.
He served in the Navy from 1955 – 1958. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. Jim was a musician and singer. He performed with many of the Grand Ole Opry stars in his earlier years. Later in life he spent countless hours performing with his special friends Chuck Atkins, Bob Hardison and Charlie Brown. Jim was known for his homemade sausage.
To his family and friends he would always remark “This is the best batch I’ve ever made”. Before his health declined, he spent a lot of time in the kitchen preparing some good southern meals.
