James William Mayberry, Jr

Mr. James W. ?Jay? Mayberry, Jr., 81, a resident of Old Williamsport Road in Columbia, passed away on Saturday, October 27, at Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro.

Funeral services for Mr. Mayberry will be conducted on Monday at 2:00 PM at the Grace Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Gene Shelton, Reverend Brian Wiesinger and Reverend Eric Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.

The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia and 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Church.

Born in Hickman County, was the son of the late James W. Mayberry, Sr. and Hazel Goodwin Mayberry. He was the husband of 60 years to Martha Jo Cooper Mayberry. Mr. Mayberry served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a welder for Boshers Welding and a member of Grace Nazarene Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ricky Joe Mayberry and Glenda Francis Eddie Glasco both of Columbia, and Jean Robin Randy Nichols of Mt. Pleasant; grandsons: Michael Stephanie Mayberry and Jonathon Mayberry and Scott Rebecca Nichols all of Columbia; Eric Elizabeth Nichols and Jesse Brittany both of Mt. Pleasant; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one brother, Guy Mayberry and one sister, Betty Curtis Arnold both of Centerville.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Thomas Mayberry; one sister, Mary Frances Mayberry Dorton and one brother, Malcom Edward Mayberry.

Pallbearers will be George Schwind, Billy Sargent, Bill Barnes, Wendell Hughes , Mike Grate and Fred Garrow.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Senior Adult Bible Class of Grace Nazarene and all members of the Grace Church of Nazarene of Columbia.

Memorials may be made to the Share and Grace of Grace Nazarene Building Fund, 2302 Highland Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401.
