Mr. James William ?Pee Wee? Hendrix, 75, a resident of the Zion Road Community, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at NHC/ Columbia Health Care.
Funeral services for Mr. Hendrix will be conducted Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Jim Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Thr Giles County native was the son of the late Rufus E. and Ruby Stinett Hendrix. He was formerly a superintendent with TVA and dozier operator for Dameron & Sons Construction Company. He was also owner of The Barn at Zion Acres. He loved the river and playing music and was an avid fisherman. Mr. Hendrix proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by a daughter, Felicia Shelaine Billy Glass of Columbia, TN; a grandson, Adam James Glass of Columbia, TN; a sister, Eddie Mai Mash of Columbia, TN; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Bozeman and Mary Ellen Stanfill; a brother, John R. Hendrix; a step father, Sam Hendrix.
Pallbearers will be Adam Glass, Chris Rochester, Mike Rochester, Jerry Hendrix, and Marvin Fautt. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Steward, Joe Dylan Warrick, Roger Potts, Dudley Barber, and Dr. C.D. George.
