James "Don" Waldrep, a beloved resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on October 20, 2024. Born on February 13, 1937, in Marshall County, Tennessee, Don led a life of service, devotion, and gentle care. He served proudly in the United States Air Force, embodying dedication to his country and community throughout his life.
Don was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was cherished deeply by his family. He was a gentle caregiver whose kindness touched many. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia, with whom he shared many wonderful years, as well as by two of his children, Lisa and Michael. He is survived by his grandsons Daniel, Benji, and Brandon Russell, and great-grandson: Mason Russell, who carry forward his legacy of love and strength.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on November 1, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Maury Hills Church, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM. Military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post 19, commemorating his dedicated service to his country.
Don’s memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
