Mr. James Thomas ?Tom? Garrett, 60, formerly of Rushmore Drive in Columbia, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at his residence in Huntsville, Alabama.
Funeral services for Mr. Garrett will be conducted Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Jack White officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Huntsville, Alabama native was the son of the late James and Ethel Victoria Allen Garrett. He was the husband of Debi Farris Garrett of Huntsville. He was a graduate of MTSU and served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. He was currently a realtor for Ben Porter Real Estate in Huntsville. He was a former employee of Quest Diagnostics Laboratory, Med Tech at Baptist Hospital in Nashville and American Red Cross in Birmingham. He was former owner and operator of TG?s Ice cream Shop in Shady Brook Mall.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Summer Victoria Garrett of Mobile, AL; a son, Matthew Thomas Garrett of Mobile, AL; a granddaughter, Mauria Elizabeth Allen of Mobile, AL; two step-daughters, Shannon Lea Brian Scheri and Jenny John White both of Florence, AL; three step-grandchildren, Rachel Ann Massey, John Paul White, and Neely Grace Scheri all of Florence, AL.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1818 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
