James Ross Holden, age 81, a resident of Mt. Joy Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Monday, November 30, at NHC Columbia.
Graveside services for Mr. Holden will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Rock Jaggers officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Williams Funeral Home, in Columbia.
Born on August 14, 1928 in Hampshire, TN, Mr. Holden was the son of the late William and Lillie B. Rochelle Holden. Mr. Holden worked as a school bus driver and carpenter. He was also a member of Cedar Hill Church of Christ. Mr. Holden was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include one daughter: Glenda Holden of Hampshire; two sisters; Alice Garner and Susie Church, of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Dude Holden, Hughes Holden, William Holden; one sister: Elease Holden.
Pallbearers will be Larry Love, Copen Ray Holden, Larry Holden, Randy Holden, Gene Ray Baxter and Snowball Mabry. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Gibran Naddy, Kenneth Travis, Jr., Gordon Travis and Wayne Garner.
