Mr. James O. "Papa Jim" Walker Jr., age 79, a resident of Ella West Circle in Lynnville, passed away on Friday, March 19th at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Walker will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday at the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dwight Liles officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the residence, 157 Ella West Circle in Lynnville.
Williams Funeral home of Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
Born April 21, 1930 in Maury County, TN, he was the son of the late James O. and Eldridge King Walker and the companion of the late Wilma Behel. He retired from Floyd & Floyd as a heavy equipment operator, enjoyed cooking and collecting cook books. He was a member Mt. Joy Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the US Air Force.
He is survived by his children: Ellen Hank Jones, Janice Leon, both of Taylor, MI, James Walker of Redford, MI, Janet Luna, Kenny Bonnie Marlin and Tommy Marlin, all of Lynnville; 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; brother: John Walker of Taylor, MI; sister: Joann White of Lewisburg; special aunt & uncle Willard Katherine Grimes of Mt. Pleasant; uncle: Buddy King of Lawrenceburg.
Pallbearers will be Steven Aytes, James Aytes, Nathan Waldrop, Nicholas Waldrop, Brent Shrader and Barry Wiser. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Floyd & Floyd and the elders of Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
