Mr. James Odell Gregg, age 81, a resident of Wall Street in Mt. Pleasant passed away on Sunday, June 22, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Graveside service for Mr. Gregg will be conducted Tuesday at 4:00 P.M. at the Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Rick Points officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
The family will visit with friends on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant..
The Marshall County native was the son of the late Napoleon Lee and Mosie Harper Gregg and the widower of Hildegard Ficker Gregg. He served our country during World War II and retired from the United States Army. Mr. Gregg was a supervisor for Hertz Rental Car for over twenty years in Columbus, GA. He attended the Church of Christ.
He is survived by a sister: Sarah York of Mt. Pleasant; special niece: Patsy Rusty Dycus Ring of Hampshire; special nephew: Jerry Linnie York of Mt. Pleasant; brother-in-law: Bobby Rochelle of Columbia; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Josie Dycus, Era Rochelle and Irene Clayton; two brothers: Roy and Napoleon Gregg.
Pallbearers will be Michael Orr, Paul Ring, Jerry York, Jr., David Clayton, Justin Hyatt and Leon York.
