James Norman Harris

February 15, 1933 — August 1, 2005

Mr. James Norman Harris, 72, a resident of Horn Hollow Rd. in Culleoka, died Monday, August 1, 2005 at his home.

Funeral services for Mr. Harris will be conducted Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Ricky Glass officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Lawrence County, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Ada Rochelle Harris and step son of late Ruby Harris. He was the husband of Mary Jo Boatright Harris for 49 years. He was part owner of Harris Trucking, a farmer, avid fisherman and hunter and a veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda James Malugin of Columbia and Linda Wendell Owen of Murfreesboro; three sons, James Norman Gail Harris, Jr. of Clarksville, Eddie Brenda Harris and Steve Debra Harris, both of Columbia; three step children, Jerry Debbie Brown of Lewisburg, Pam Tommy Dugger of Franklin and Cheryl Larry Jones of Nashville; ten grandchildren, Tara Jerry Lee Webb, Kari Robert Truette, Ron Rhonda Malugin, Robin Ricky Chandler, Chris Jessica Harris, Jennifer Harris, Steve Black, Lori Harris Mitchell, Bret Harris and Nathan Harris; seven step grandchildren, Carrie Eric Michael, Jesse Brown, Tamyra Jones, Tim Jones, Lindsey Dugger, Ashley Dugger and Kyle Dugger; two sisters, Irene Campbell of Nashville and Dorothy Jerry Glass of Lawrenceburg; 15 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren; a special friend, Billy Hickman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur ?Chick? Harris, two sisters, Anna Mae Freeman and Dean Samela.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and step grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Hickman, Nick Savage, Robert Abbott, Dwight Boswell, Wayne McNeese, Tim Harris, Loyd Dugger, David Daily, James Hunt and S.B. Williams.
