James Ledlie “Led” Miller, Jr., age 90, passed away on December 3, 2013 at his residence in Columbia, Tennessee.
Led was born on August 15, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late James Miller, Sr. and the late Pauline Crothers Miller. He served honorably in the United States military during WWII, having fought as a paratrooper during the Normandy invasion. On November 16, 1976 he married Delores Schulz and they have enjoyed 37 years together.
He worked as a purchasing agent for Lummus Crest, Inc. in Houston, Texas and was of the Episcopal faith.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife: Delores Schulz Miller; daughter: Heidi (Jonathan) Schneblen of New York; step-children: Delores (Tom) Blankenship and Karl (Lisa) Schneider, both of Mt. Pleasant, and Step-daughter-in-law Carolyn Schneider of Baton Rouge, LA; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Led Miller will be conducted on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
