James “Jimmy” Louis Childress, 54 of Culleoka, suddenly passed away at his home on Saturday, January 18, 2014.
Jimmy was born in Nashville to his parents James and Elissa Talley Childress. He married the late Sandy Parigin in 1998. He served in the U. S. Navy and worked residential construction. Jimmy was a guitar player who sincerely loved life, family, the Tennessee Titans, writing music, Lynard Skynard, and going to concerts with Sandy. An outdoorsman at heart, Jimmy loved fishing, kayaking, and boating.
Funeral services for Mr. Childress will be Friday, January 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Terry Perry officiating. Burial will follow the service in Polk Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, January 23, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors for Jimmy include: his mother, Elissa Childress; two children, Drew (Maureen) Childress and Savannah Childress; three brothers, Michael Edward Childress, David Wayne Childress, and Robert Thomas Childress; three grandchildren, William Kincaid, Samantha Kincaid, and Charlotte Baye. He was preceded in death by: his father, James Andrew Childress; his wife, Sandra Louise Childress; and his daughter, Amanda Dawn Kincaid.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers for the service. Kenny Lovett will be an honorary pallbearer.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the family through Williams Funeral Home.
