James Hendix

February 24, 1945 — August 19, 2006

Our Beloved James ?Buster? ?Tiny? Hendrix, 61, of Columbia, lost his long, bravely fought battle with cancer passed away Saturday, August 19, 2006 at his home.

Graveside services for Mr. Hendrix will be conducted Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 11:00 a m. at the Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville, TN with Rick Points officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 7:00.until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.

Born to the late Ada Hendrix, he lived most of his life in Maury County. During his life, he held several jobs including ride foreman, truck driver and welder with the World Pleasure Shows. He was also a foreman with Monsanto and owner and operator of ?Tiny?s? in Columbia. James loved hunting, yard work, and planting his own garden. He was also a music lover with Elvis Presley being his favorite. He was a devoted family man and a trusted friend to many, too many to name each and every one, but you know who you are.

Mr. Hendrix leaves behind his loving companion of six years, Sandy West, and her children, Chris West and family, Regina Coleman and family, Ricky Curtis, Cody Curtis and family all of Gladwin, Michigan, also sadly leaves behind his loving family of brothers and sisters; William Dorothy Faye Hendrix of Spring Hill, Jimmy Wanda Dean of Mt. Pleasant, Jocie John Boswell of Lynnville, Christine R.C. Oliver, Joyce Ann and Carl Ray ?Goose? Dean all of Columbia; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Jessie Nolen Hendrix; two uncles, Mack and Tommy Hendrix; a grandmother, Axie Hendrix.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Memorials may be made to the Maury Regional Oncology Department, Columbia, TN; St Thomas Oncology/Radiotherapy Department, Nashville, TN; Vanderbilt children?s Hospital, Nashville, TN or Hospice of Highland Rim.
