James Franklin Clark

February 11, 1922 — January 20, 2003

Mr. James Franklin Clark, 80, a resident of West 13Th Street of Columbia died Monday, January 20, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be conducted, Wednesday January 22, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Roberts and Elmer Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post # 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Giles County native was the son of late Robert C. and Mary Brewer Clark and the husband of Maggie Virginia Osborne Clark . He retired from Stauffer Chemical Company furnace department and a former employee of TVA in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church Parkway Baptist Church of Columbia and was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. One of his favorite past times was walking in the mall and visiting with friends at Wal-Mart.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mary AnnDon Davis of Lynnville and Kathy Schmidt of Columbia; three sons, James Ronald "Ronnie" Clark of Lewisburg, David Allen Jessie Clark of Jacksonville, Ark., and Mark Anthony Clark of Columbia; one sister, Laura Watters of Columbia; four granddaughters, Carla Sean Caldwell of Lynnville, Chrissy Shannon Potts of Culleoka, Amber Clark and Courtney Clark both of Centerville; three grandsons, Steve Karen Clark of Columbia, Chris Kristin Clark of Santa Fe and Cameron Schmidt of Columbia; two great-granddaughters, Mollie Elizabeth Caldwell and Alyssa Cannon Potts and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Duncan and Myrtle Clark; four brothers, Willie Jackson Clark, Robert Thomas Clark, Martin Preston Clark, and Russell P. Clark.

Pallbearers will be Steve Rhodes, Eddie Gray, Steve Clark, Chris Clark, Cameron Schmidt, Gary Watters, Shannon Potts, and Sean Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Franklin Clark, Jerry Clark, Glenn "Ross" Clark, Erwin Cooper, and others friends

Memorials may be made to the Parkway Baptist Church Building Fund.
