I was SFC (E7) James F. Ford HHC 473rd Spt Bn, TN retired Army & National Guard with 29 years of service. I was a resident of Columbia, TN for 45 years. My wife Hazel of almost 65 years is still living, along with my two sons and only daughter. I have five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. I was a man of few words and didn’t realize how important God, family and friends were.
My father was an alcoholic and so was I for many years. I did a lot that no father should ever do to his family. Two years ago, in the hospital my daughter prayed with and for me to give my life to the Lord. Even though, I couldn’t talk, tears came from my eyes. I knew then that the Lord forgave me of my sins, that one day I would go home with Him.
Hazel, I only hope one day you will forgive me. My sons and daughter Ricky, Keith, Amy; I do love you and I’m proud of the men and woman you all have become. You three have many wonderful talents.
If you are reading my obituary don’t feel sorry for me, for I found my Lord and Savior. I hope that you will find yours in Jesus Christ.
Amen.
