Mr. James Edward Prince, 80, a resident of Knud Drive in Columbia, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Prince will be conducted Sunday, April 10, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home of Columbia with Reverend John Rushing officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Williamson County native was the son of the late Joe Allen and Eula Maude Thompson Prince. He was the husband of Katherine Stanfill Prince. Mr. Prince was retired from the United States Army and served during World War II. He was a member of the 82nd Air Born and served in Europe in the Battle of Buldge. He was awarded the Purple Heart and was of Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Fay Kenny Buchanan of Central City, IL; two sons, Gilbert Diane Prosser of Culleoka, TN and James Morton of Santa Fe, TN; one granddaughter, Leilani Allan Fox ; great-grandchildren, James Daniel Fox and Deborah Katlin Fox both of Santa Fe, TN; four step-grandchildren, Taylor Hurt, Keshia Hurt both of Culleoka, TN, Justin Alman and Steven Alman both of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Stella Prince Stanley; three brothers, Tom, Joe and Hugh Prince; one step-daughter, Debbie Prosser.
Pallbearers will be Joe Prince, Eddie Prince, Bobby Bond, Bobby Brooks, Roy Johnson, Ricky Stanfill and Alan Fox.
Honorary pallbearers will be D.B. Pee Wee Johnson, Butch Schrader, Wayne Stacey, Neal Barker, Ken Huff, Dr. Robert Bain, Dr. Robert Mac Arthur, Dr. Thomas Farmer, Staff and Employees of the Rosewood Manor Nursing Home and Quality First Home Health Care.
