James Earl Stockard

August 18, 1934 — July 28, 2003

Mr. James E. ?Jim? Stockard, 68, a resident of Darks Mill Road, died Monday, July 28, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Stockard will be conducted Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 11:00 am at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Reverend Harvel Stockard officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post # 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Harris B. and Margaret Eddelmon Stockard. He was the husband of Lessie ?Lori? Black Stockard of Columbia. He was a retired cement mason in Portland Oregon and member of the Knob Creek Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Susan Minter Willis of Columbia, TN; a grandson, Taylor Willis of Columbia, TN; a sister, Evelyn Mash of Columbia, TN; three brothers, Harris B. Pam Stockard, Jr. of Ashford, WA, Robert A. Wanda Stockard and Joe W. Stockard both of Columbia, TN. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Sadie Mae Black, Alice Sanders, Mary Sue Stockard, and Ruby Baker; one brother, Walter Stockard.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Bishop, Travis Ervin, Alfred Ervin, Richard Mitchell, John Black, and Bobby Tennyson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ben Gardner and Staff, Bev Brown and oncology nurses at Maury Regional Hospital, CT Department at Maury Regional Hospital, Dr. William Reid, and member of the Knob Creek Baptist Church.
