Mr. James Dennis Jenkins, 71, a resident of Gardendale Drive in Columbia, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Roselawn Cemetery in Athens, AL. with Rev. Telford Tharp, Rev. Jason Kizer and Rev. Phillip Frances officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 ? 8:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Born in Limestone County, AL, he was the son of the late James P. and Mattie Pearl Pitts Jenkins and husband of Linda Monette Muse Jenkins. He was retired from Union Carbide as maintenance expeditor. Mr. Jenkins served two terms in the US Army, from 1958 to 1960 and 1961 to 1962. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Columbia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Denise Truman Hyde of Tampa Bay, FL and Delynn Jake Shiarla of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren, Sloan Hyde of Tampa Bay, Fl and Jay and Rainey Shiarla, both of Murfreesboro; two sisters, Evelyn Hughes and Carolyn Paul Pitts, both of Hartselle, AL; a brother, Kenneth Sara Jenkins of Columbia.
Memorials may be made to the First United Pentecostal Church of Columbia.
