James A. Mcgee

Mr. James A McGee, 77, a resident of Gaskill Branch Rd. in Santa Fe, died Saturday, April 24, 2004 at his home.

Funeral services for Mr. McGee will be conducted Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Jack Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Santa Fe Cemetery with military honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be conducted Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Lynnville, TN., he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Florence Shelby McGee and husband of Margarette Hanback McGee. He was a retired foreman from Monsanto, worked for the Maury County Highway Department for 12 years and served as County Commissioner for 12 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, a member of the American Legion Post 19 and a member of the First Baptist Church of Santa Fe.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Paulette Tony Isabell of Columbia; four sons, Jimmy Sue McGee of Hillsboro, AL., Jimmy Shirley Hanback of Columbia, Jeff Phyllis McGee and James ?Bug?
Tina McGee, both of Santa Fe; two sisters, Jennie Mae McGee Flint of Mt. Pleasant and Connie McGee Morris of Columbia; a brother, William Tommy Sue McGee of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a special friend and caregiver, Janet Gatlin.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeremy McGee, Josh McGee, Ricky Hanback, James McGee, Jeremy Hanback, Chris Isabell and Cameron Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Danielle McGee Solley, Martina McGee and Tracy Isabell Robertson and the Retirees of Monsanto.
