Mr. James A. McCracken, 68, a resident of Napier Road in Hohenwald, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. McCracken will be conducted Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Columbia with Reverend Ron Cummings officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
Born in Kanawha County, WV, he was the son of the late Arnold N. and Lenna Breeden McCracken and husband of Naomi Hudson McCracken. He was a retired industrial fireman at United Tech in West Palm Beach, FL, a US Air Force veteran and of the Baptist Faith. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we are comforted with the knowledge that he is resting in the arms of our Lord.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Nora Daryl Newport of Hohenwald and Rita William Murphy of Huntsville, AL; a son, Tim Robin McCracken of Pelham, AL; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Hudson of Charleston, WV; two brothers, William McCracken of Charleston, WV and Ted McCracken of Pawley?s Island, SC. He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Marion and a brother, Daniel E. McCracken.
Pallbearers will be Tim McCracken, Daryl Newport, Allen Murphy, Bob Gibbs, Dan Richard and Tom Potts.
